I became a real estate agent accidentally twenty-five years ago.  At the time I was a single mom of three daughters and was back in college heading for a Masters degree in Psychology.  I needed a way to support myself and the kids, and I needed it to be on my own schedule.

I was surprisingly successful right away.  I made real estate calls from the campus pay phone, told clients that I would be “in appointments all day Tuesday, how about Wednesday?” and typed papers till midnight after the kids were in bed.  It was exhausting, but also exhilarating. Ten years earlier I had majored in Civil Engineering and then worked for several years as a technician for a firm in Marin County, designing and drafting subdivisions, roads, parking lots, and sewer systems.  I had an unusual collection of knowledge about drainage, traffic design, property development and surveying, including how to read and write legal descriptions.

When my youngest daughter was born, I left that career and thought that I might never use it again.  It turned out that my diverse set of knowledge and experience was perfect for helping people buy and sell property.  The hard knowledge about property development “from the ground up” has been immensely helpful, especially with country property, and having a well-rounded background in Psychology and good communication skills is constantly useful.

I’m a member of the National Association of Realtors, the California Association of Realtors, NORBAR, BAREIS, and a California licensed real estate broker (01119148).
I now have three grown daughters and own my home in Sebastopol.  I also teach in the Organization Development Masters Program at Sonoma State University.

I have lived in Sonoma County and worked as a Realtor for the last eighteen years. I have millions of dollars of sales under my belt and a long list of happy buyers and sellers from Cloverdale to Oakland.

My approach to real estate is one of advocacy and support, and I am uniquely sensitive to client needs and goals. I have assisted with large transactions, including the purchase, transfer and sale of luxury properties, power plants, hotels and restaurants, in addition to commercial tenant and vendor lease agreements and numerous residential transactions.

Prior to becoming a Realtor, I was a Corporate Specialist/Paralegal at several major law firms throughout California. My combined twenty-seven years of legal and real estate experience have given me a keen eye for detail and strong comprehension of contract language, as well as formidable negotiation skills; I am well-equipped to provide intelligent, intuitive and creative ideas to my clients. I also have worked in the tech industry as a developer and coder, so I am very fluent in the language of online real estate.

I am a member of the National Association of Realtors, the California Association of Realtors, the North Bay Association of Realtors, and BAREIS MLS.I am a California licensed Realtor (#01327795), and a Certified Country Property Specialist.I am also a Certified Salesforce Developer and Administrator, which has provided high-level tech and customer relationship management skills.

I am also a painter, writer and musician and am connected to a large, local community of cultural creatives and members of the sustainable and local food movements. I was raised in the beautiful communities of Santa Barbara, California and Lake Tahoe.

    Skye and Owen

We have been married for twenty-five years and serve as a team in assisting our clients. We bring kindness, careful listening, curiosity, integrity, and attention to detail to our work—in other words—presence.

Skye: I have co-owned a weaving studio, a desktop publishing business, and taught computer-aided drafting. I love to write, and I’m completing a memoir about raising my disabled son.

Owen: I was born and raised in the Netherlands, where I received a Masters in Civil Engineering. I have worked as an engineer, IT manager, maintenance supervisor, and massage therapist. I love to fix things in and around the house and have a keen sense for what makes a house a home.

Together we worked on the current general plans for both Lafayette and Sebastopol by creating the maps included in the plans. We have lived individually and communally, and are familiar with alternative housing arrangements. We enjoy growing—and eating—organic food.

We would love to assist you in finding a home that meets your heart's and budget's needs, or selling when it is time to move on. Whether you are searching for a smaller home because it is time to downsize, or an expansive property to fill with a growing family and your guests, we are interested in working with you.

We are members of the National Association of Realtors, the California Association of Realtors, the North Bay Association of Realtors, and BAREIS MLS. We both are California licensed Realtors (#01920054 and #01920066)
